Computers and smart phones continue to dominate many of our lives and even the once humble bookkeeping package has grown up from an electronic shoebox.
We feel it is timely to put out an urgent warning and reminder for all who use an online bookkeeping or ‘cloud accounting’ package like MYOB live, Quickbooks online or xero to check who has access to their accounts.
When did you last review who has permission to access your accounting software?
Do you have past employees, former accountants and even auditors registered as authorised users? It is really important that you review your users on a regular basis, to ensure that only people you want to have access do have it. We strongly recommend that you set up a regular calendar appointment to ‘Check online users’.
