AFS & Associates is excited to announce the appointment of Kate Mannix as its first ever Chief Executive Officer. This position is a first for the firm which has operated for over 70 years.
AFS has taken one of its most important steps forward to ensure the business continues to grow. This role allows us to provide the high level of service our clients demand, while focusing on our future, culture and team development.
Kate was born and bred in Bendigo and has over 20 years experience in both public practice and industry. Commencing her career in Melbourne at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), Kate then took a role with Blockbuster Australia, prior to returning to our wonderful regional city. She joined AFS in 2008 in the audit team and some five years later took up the position of General Manager Corporate Services in 2013. Her new appointment strengthens the representation of females in leadership positions within the Bendigo business community.
“I never imagined that I would end up being the CEO of an accounting firm when I returned to Bendigo 9 years ago. Little did I know the passion I would develop for this firm, its clients and the growth of the professional services industry in Bendigo. This role will certainly continue to develop me personally, while assisting AFS to evolve into the future. The team at AFS have been incredibly supportive over the years and I look forward to working with the amazing client base and talented team we have right here at AFS,” revealed Kate.
“AFS is truly growing into a firm who can assist clients with any problem or query they have. I am so encouraged with the growing quality of professional services firms here in Bendigo and am so pleased to be entrusted with taking AFS into the future,” said Kate.
“Having experienced the significant improvements to our business with Kate as our General Manager together with the passion and leadership she has displayed in that role, we are comfortable that AFS is in safe hands,” said Graeme Stewart, Senior Partner of the firm.
“We are very excited about this big step forward,” said Graeme, “We hope that clients and staff will see an even better AFS under Kate’s stewardship.”
Appointing a CEO is a reflection of the maturity of the business and the strong future it holds. Congratulations and good luck Kate on a well-deserved appointment.
