For the final quarter of 2017 we wanted to share our Casual Cash donations with a local Christmas appeal.
At the end of each month the AFS and Venture team wear casual clothes in exchange for a gold coin donation. Each quarter, we gather the funds and donate them to a local charity. Leading up to the festive season we didn’t want anyone to go without this Christmas so we got in touch with Hit91.9 Bendigo when we heard about ‘Hitmas’.
In conjunction with The Salvation Army, Villawood Properties and Toyworld are working together to bring Hitmas to Bendigo. A Christmas toy appeal giving hope to those doing it tough.
With the donations from our casual cash, CEO Kate Mannix took her three young children to the shops and purchased over 30 toys for children who are less fortunate than our own. The kids had a ball shopping for all of the toys and little Jake Mannix, 8, said “I feel really good doing this for those kids Mum.”
In total with extra toy and cash donations from our own team members we dropped off 38 toys to the Villawood Christmas tree drop off point.
Christmas is all about giving. If you would like to help you can drop off a toy (unwrapped) at the following drop off Christmas Tree points:
