Under the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (LHL Act), all labour hire providers must be licensed.
To operate legally in Victoria from 30 October 2019, a labour hire provider must:
Labour hire licenses are granted and managed by the Labour Hire Authority who enforce the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 to create safe and fair working environments in Victoria.
Businesses that supply their employees to businesses that are owned by other people, require a labour hire license.
If any of the workers you supply perform work in any of these industries listed below, you are likely to be providing labour hire services and will require a licence hire license.
If you work out of a commercial premise and hire cleaners (for example) or any workers that perform the above duties, you must only use licensed providers.
Penalties of over $590,000 can apply to both unlicensed providers and businesses that use unlicensed services.
