AFS Sustainability Report 2023
We are proud to present our inaugural Sustainability Report for the fiscal year 2022-23, showcasing our commitment to environmental, social, and governance responsibility. This report reflects our journey towards sustainability, highlighting our achievements, ongoing efforts and goals to create a positive impact on the world around us.
Priorities
The direction of our sustainability report was developed through stakeholder consultation. We conducted surveys with both internal and external stakeholders to understand their perspectives and priorities. This ensured our Sustainability Report focused on the sustainability risks, opportunities and impacts that are most important to AFS and our stakeholders.Environmental priorities

Reporting framework
We have utilised the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards as a base of reporting in our inaugural Sustainability Report. This framework provides a comprehensive set of sustainability reporting guidelines that cover a wide range of environmental, social, and governance issues. The GRI is widely recognised as a leading standard for sustainability reporting.Report highlights
Environmental
We engaged an independent carbon advisor to measure our carbon Scope 1 and 2 emissions. This has highlighted the biggest emissions contributors from our business operations are purchasing of energy to run our office.
The measuring of emissions guided us to purchase off-set carbon credits and become carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2 emissions for the year.
Social
Net Promoter Score
We utilise the Net Promoter Score (NPS) metric to gauge our employees’ engagement and experience. The NPS survey asks employees to rate the likelihood of them recommending AFS as an employer.
Mental health first-aiders
41% of our people leaders are trained in mental health first aid.
Governance
Information Security Review
We have engaged with a third party to conduct an information security review of our organisation, with the key initiatives and focus areas being:
- Access control: Least privilege access model
- Identity management: Centralised identity management
- Asset handling: Information classification and handling
- Risk management: Operational level risk assessments
- Planning and preparation: Business continuity planning.
