The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is making changes to how you can access the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) service.
From Monday 26 February 2018 any taxpayer that is currently using the SBSCH will need to either sign up to the ATO Business Portal or setup a myGov account with the ATO. Your business type will determine which option you need to use:
Small Business with an ABN
Those running a small business will be required to join the ATO Business Portal to use the SBSCH.
Sole Trader or an individual who employs others
Individual employers or businesses without an ABN will be required to access the SBSCH through their myGov account linked to ATO online services.
There are a number of non-individual withholder payer number (WPN) holders and others who will not be able to access the SBSCH service online including:
If your business falls under one of these exclusions, you need to call the ATO to have your transactions processed manually. Phone 1300 660 048 and have your tax file number and clearing house information ready.
Access to the existing SBSCH will be unavailable from 3pm Monday 19 February 2018, and the new service will be operational on Monday 26 February.
We will be able to continue using the SBSCH on behalf of our business clients via the new online service from Monday 26 February 2018.
